As is apparent to anyone who has seen me of late, Ive been hitting the beach hard. Nothing too glamorousjust a few hours at Fort Tilden on the weekends, followed by a fried fish sandwich (or two) in Far Rockaway. But rays are rays and thanks to some precise layering of SPF 30 and Hampton Sun SPF 4 Tanning Oil, I am working on a very enviable glow. I reserver heavier SPF 50 formulas for my face. They keep my freckles at bay, but post-sun I need to apply some elbow grease to ensure my skin is completely cleansed from what can be pore-clogging lotions. That means a scrub is in order, although I can only really handle a mild exfoliant that doesnt strip my complexion of much-needed moisture. Enter Avedas new Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner, a creamy, white clay wash that uses bamboo extract and a fine tourmaline gemstone powder to remove residue and dead skin while detoxifying. Its tough-acting, so the possibility of breakouts is a non-issue, but not overly abrasive, which means my skin is left smooth, bright, and most important, uniformly bronzed.
