Counting ourselves amongst the makeup minimalists of the world, we rely on three beauty essentials to get through any given day: concealer, lip balm, and mascaramascara being the key to the trifecta. A few swipes of a good lash-enhancing wand can make you appear instantly put-together and glamorous, no matter how hard, say, those many cans of cheap beer and that rogue wine cooler from last nights 4th of July festivities made getting up this morning. The key, weve found, is finding an offering that delivers on multiple frontsnot just lengthening and not just volumizing, but both at onceand Benefits latest release does just that. Cheekily named Theyre Real!, the brands new launch is billed as beyond belief, and its results are almost too good to be true. A special brushone that does not twirl or vibrate, for the recorduses a staggered bristle design to grab lashes close to the root to distribute a long-wearing, glossy formula for a fuller effect. Benefit has also found an interesting way to incorporate the mace shape, made famous by Givenchy (and then again by Revlon), to its otherwise linear brush, putting spherical, spiky bristles on the tip only to assist in painting those hard to reach lashes on the inner and outer corners of lids. Fans of the San Francisco-based companys best-selling BadGal Lash should view this newcomer as a welcomed evolution of an old standby; Theyre Real! beefs up lashes as well as Bad Gal but makes them look longerand slightly curled, too!in the process.
