Angels dropped in on New Yorks IAC building last night, but not the Victoria Secret variety. Were talking about Thierry Mugler Angelsambassadors of the legendary designers famous fragranceNaomi Watts and Eva Mendes. It was Mendes official coming-out party as a new face of the forthcoming Angel Eau de Toilette and the classic eau de parfum and Mr. Mugler himself was in attendance. I have a great memory from Angel, having spent a long passage of time with these people, Watts told Style.com before the unveiling of Mendes new campaign. The fragrance is strong, gives you confidence, and its not overpowering. There may be something to that, as the patchouli-heavy eau gave Mendes the self-assurance to do something a little out of character: sing. I had a blast, Mendes says of belting out Noel Harrisons The Windmills of Your Mind, which she recorded with a 30-piece orchestra for the EDTs commercial that airs this Fall. (Mendes will reportedly use her pipes on camera again to star as opera legend Maria Callas in an upcoming film about her life.) The actress also mustered up the courage to climb into a harness for the TV spot. If you havent been in a harness like that before, I highly recommend it, she joked.
