Celebrating fashion, art, and everything plastic, Christie’s hosted the “Everyone Needs a Ken” event last night.

The event was a unique exhibit that spotlighted CFDA designers, Christie’s unique art pieces, and the gorgeousness that is Ken. Six designers created different date looks for the plastic playboy, who is celebrating his 50th birthday this year. Each look, modeled by a real-life Ken model, brilliantly blended delicious fantasy with charming practicality. Yigal Azrouël designed Ken’s breezy beach look, Simon Spurr created a black wool optic Jacquard suit with a matching vest for his formal-date costume, and Billy Reid bundled Ken in a Patterson double-breasted sport jacket and herringbone Leighton pant for winter play. Each look was set against the backdrop of Christie’s First Open Post-War collection, featuring dazzling artists like Till Gerhard, Paul Jenkins, and Pat Steir. But the accessory and art piece that goes with every look and setting, of course, is the ultimate arm candy: Ken himself.
